devorah + philip ~ engaged

When meeting them I spent the 1st 30 mins saying Devorah’s name incorrectly! LOL I said why didn’t you tell me, she said “Oh I’m use to it.” LOL can you just see me on their wedding day still saying her name wrong!! So I quickly wrote her name down how it’s correctly pronounced so I don’t make that mistake again:)It’s those darn vowels, they get me every time!!

Devorah had this great idea to go to Cranbrook Science Center and just walk around. Boy oh boy it was beautiful!!

melissa & larry ~ 8.26.11 ~ post family farms

One of the coolest things I’ve seen to date is they wanted to do a 1st glance but to actually NOT SEE each other. Way to much fun. You can just feel the excitement!

Location: Post Family Farms in Hudsonville, MI

I’m a sucker for the moments in between the smiles… (fix that tie… it is fixed??)

Francis Family

I’ve finished with all my edits and clients are all happy with the goods:)Now It’s time to finally show you what we’ve been up to!

Lexi & Brad just create the cutes boys around! We did their yearly family session and add an extra year to the boys ages created a challenge to just have both boys in the frame LOL. If only I could bottle that energy for days when I really need it!!

I love this one! A little photog trick to get the clients to relax their faces is I ask them to close their eyes and take a deep breath together, then on my count just open your eyes… works every time. Well I didn’t even notice Kellan until I was going through the images and found this one LOL.

We added Lexi’s parents to complete the family:)

Need I say more….  A D O R A B L E

Had to throw in a little wind action!

Curvy

So the new term for “plus size” is girls with curves! And I am one of those girls:)I just had a thought to show you a few do’s and don’ts of shooting a curvy girl. Being one who is VERY self conscious when I’m in front of the camera and always trying to hide my “flaws”. Well what better way to get over my fear of being in front than to be the model for this tutorial.

I am letting all fears out the window and showing you who the real me is… unedited.. well most of them LOL

Please forgive that some are a little on the blury side… I’m not the best at setting timer and running into position. LOL I really need a wireless trigger!!!

The don’t will always be on the left and a more friendlier version of the pose on the right.

Pose on the left does nothing for the face, boobs, or middle area.

Turn the head instead of leaning it on the wall, angle your shoulders and cross arms to cover the middle.

Here is the edit version I would give to the client.

I tighten up the arms and give bigger hair… who doesn’t want bigger hair!

Left straight on = not cool         Middle, give angle to the body = getting better           End, tighten up that angle = best

Straight on, not flattering to the neck, arms, legs. All your really doing is hiding the middle.

Have the client get on one knee, give angles to the arms and turn the head to loose the double chin.  This is a better option for straight on look.

This is what I would give to the client, cropped a bit bring the focus to the face, tighten up the arms, and smooth out the skin tone. I just might make this my new Facebook profile:)

I saved my favorite trick for last! Creating a waist.

I feel like a weight loss picture of the before & after LOL

Hands on the direct hips, you look wider, just bring them in front a bit creates that waist curve we girls just LOVE!

This is what I would give to a client.

I tighten up the arms a bit and then got rid of that weird bump on my knee.

I hope these tips will help with your next shoot.
